CWAA Launches the Professional Development Grant 2017
The Country Women’s Association of Australia (CWAA) is committed to high-quality health services in Rural and Remote Australia.
The CWAA Rural and Remote Nursing and Midwifery Professional Development (PD) Grant 2017 is intended to assist rural and remote nurses and midwives to offset the costs of undertaking Continuing Professional Development. The grant is designed to enable nurses and midwives with strong links to rural and remote communities to: upskill; provide quality care; and meet the heath service needs of their communities.
Application for the grant is open to a Registered Nurse, Enrolled Nurse or Midwife who are commencing a program of study or course to gain new skills and broaden their knowledge. The grant will be awarded based on assessment against selection criteria. Half of the total amount will be paid at the commencement of study, which will be required to start within 12 months of being offered a grant, and the balance will be paid on successful completion of the course.
The CWAA will fund the grant and has worked with the National Rural Health Alliance and CRANAplus to administer and update the program and is pleased to announce that there will be four (4) scholarships up to $5,000 each for Rural & Remote Nursing & Midwifery programs and courses in 2017.
Applications open 1 September 2017 and close at 5.00pm on 13 October 2017.
The webpage http://ruralhealth.org.au/cwaaruralnursingcpdgrant/ will have the Application form and Grant Guidelines available 1 September 2017 at 9.00am.
